-death by landscape- pt III ---

snowy plovers

slap dash blogging, yo. this was a month ago: pismo dunes state beach.

my mornings. so snugly.

nursing breaks

super weaners!!!!

we didn't cough up the dough for the heart castle tour...but we did enjoy the freebie visitor center.

cypress and pine.

first saltine. :)

my kind of land.

sage and sun and silver shadows. my babies.

daisies,

and fire weeds. (i made that last one up. i'm prone to that.)

life happens in the margins, where sage meets sand meets sea.

there was a lagoon...shrouded with fog in the chill morning, bi-chromatic in muted grays and earthy greens from water to sky; a gradient. cormorants, ducks. i felt like Thoreau gliding after the laughing loon on the calm face of walden.

pt mugu state aprk. sycamore cove:

a rocky, mountainous place with shadowy canyons textured with giant sycamores. scraggly hills dotted with cactus and black rocks overlooked a barren turquoise coast.

our campsite

walking from our site, under the 1, to the beach. when the tide came in during the night the sea crashed so loud under the road. i thought it would wash our away our tent while we slept. great tip from amy and matt. :) xoxo

our view from the tent.
mornings before the fog burns off.
