take a closer look

mushroom hunt at the big school after our bike ride. heart humming.

of course they decide to whip up some turkey tail tea.

can't get enough of these beauties.

been into basketball lately.

shoes optional.

awake and alive. focused and alert.
off to do a little transplanting..

we're anarchists, so we're using harvested rainwater for the sprouts.

they need warmth, and diligence.

the tiny greenhouse rattles precariously in the recent winds, already toppling over once, still hopeful for our plants...

it's high stakes with so many of our main crops held in the mercy of a make-shift greenhouse.

(but already we taste tomatoes and peppers---dreams of summer in tiny plants)

starting with small scale revolution -- start at home. start from heart -- work from there
then off to preschool to fill my heart again with the happy sounds of fully expressed childhood creativity.

participating as an adult has been very healing, to experience the free and unrepressed creative energy of children... healing invisible wounds carried from childhood.. i enjoyed a forested and barefoot childhood, and even then we are not free from karmic wounds ---

the preschool has strengthened lincoln, helped us bond, and this has reached over to his big brother, since our interactions are much more patient and filled with understanding.

today i am snack parent, little friends wandering around munching apples and telling me tidbits about themselves---
"how does your story start?"

i remember my first day here: i had stopped by once before, thinking i'd enroll teddy but i was hell-bent on homeschooling for some reason..... bev boz walked me through this magic preschool. i was enchanted. i am forever thankful for her and her legacy of supporting and being a childhood guardian.
never never land. imaginations grow strong. these kids are engineers. artists. problem solvers. community builders. sure of themselves. we must get schools ready for kids... not the other way around...   this school is their's to interact with, to dig in to. children are pure intelligence and energetic magical sponges. like i've said before, this school is refuge, oasis in the wildness of children, working with other parents to create what we believe our children and families need to be supported and strong..  definitely raising some strong willed independent thinkers. :)

classroom snails eat garden chard the children pick and munch on themselves

snack parent wraps up the day as door parent, saying goodbye to all of our friends for the day!

the kids ground potpourri today at the art table. so fragrant.
pick-up by daddy, who's doing an amazing job trying to throw a birthday party together for our pisces pup!

reach for the light!
 i've found my community--

it hasn't been difficult not having a car,
since we were part time bikers anyway...

bike to school work nature friends adventure greenhouse

the money, though, to repair my golf has me considering a full-bike lifestyle. :)
ahhh, tiny house. it always feels good to get home after a long and happy drizzly spring day.
abbey the boxer and wildkratts on the screen, going back in time to visit the extinct do-do bird. :)

so thankful for new friends who come and discuss big ideas and understand the meaning of "school night." :)
just paying attention,
watching with rapture the patterns of unfolding.

eclipse magic

today i learned:

that everything is okay.

clarity clarity clarity

spent the morning with this chap. almost four and getting me feeling slightly jealous of women wearing little newborns. (dolly to uterus: nope.)

little pisces, highly accessorized and imaginative. the world is his daydream. momma gets it.

wandering through a dreamy neighborhood littered with blossoms.
like twins.

watching link is a wonder.
his climbing skills are naturally primitive,
following those old dna instincts, the brain growing stronger when the young body is so actively engaged.

nature is the greatest teacher, wandering with wild children is my inspiration.

linky gathers fruits.

my baby is a giant lug!!!!
glowing lilac.

seas of march green. so amazed and grateful for our friendship and our son.

stop and take a closer look.
bird song and rushing water filling your ears
 stop after stop

like a pokey puppy sniffing every worm.

on a magical Creek journey to the farmers market
don't dawdle when crossing the tracks!!
loner nature nerd always down for a ride----- peeled back to basics and feeling alive in my skin.
mushroom momma and her babies. family portrait.
i always seem to find magic because I am always ready for magic

we always seem to find each other: the mushrooms and i, the blossoms and earthworms and bird song
we are always finding each other, just as i need it most
watch the unfolding of self. don't force. enjoy. trust.

the vagabond's amphitheater.

flyin.

the truck load of veggies going from the farmer's market to the food bank, and this man admonishing me to come and volunteer!
learning today that i am not alone

seeing the woman on her bike with her toddler splashing in the creek--

the man with the veggies strapped to the back of his bike

talking permaculture projects with strangers on the streets....

it's happening,
i am not alone.
farmer's market goodies: from scratch veggie pot stickers.

of course i'd run into this soul on the sidewalk. blowin' like a tumbleweed. magnetic, this wizard, happily checking on the wee sprouting peppers tomatoes kales and greens.

allegory, he said.

what he remembered as he was waking up from a night of intense dreams, those new moon clearing space transits--

an eclipse, when we ran into each other on the sidewalk, and time stood still.

you finally rode away and i watched your turned back.
the wind whipped my hair and traffic roaring by filled my ears.

feelin' reflective

i'm hard pressed to find anything i love more than borage. the first this year at the school garden.

a quick visit to the scrappy diy green house filled with love, about 100 babies! future fields of veggies!! transplant time.

mom bus has arrived.

take a closer look,

the beauty of community
nature knows the way nature is the way
let's learn it let's remember

wild preschool canoe filled with greens

mmmmmmmm much needed spring time rains leave myself and the soil fruiting, refreshed. replenished.

watching wisdom sprout in these children.
the poppy teaches me that it's okay to bloom

even if you're shy or scared or self-conscious it's okay it's what you were meant to do

half opened crumpled poppy
like a fiery cup

open your golden heart let your truth shine

speak up
be heard
we want you
you are not alone
we find each other. they find me. i find them. inky cap

filled my pockets. many colored polypore
so proud of teddy--- we've been car-free and his bike commute skills are much improved.

so thankful for where i've been,
for what i've had the pleasure to experience,
and for what i have yet to experience.

now, looking back, those stay at home mom days are mystical and precious. what a strange time. like i dream i had. (i'll pretty much always be wearing that scarf though, crafted with love by my sweet gaurdian angel of a cousin)

it marks a year since my self-explosive exodus from suburbia, shooting out like a flaming meteorite, like a kernel popped by pressure, leaving everything i used to know crumbling in an unstoppable wake.

still in transition, dreams materializing.

just living my life.

i moved out.
started a farm.
found friends.
fell in foaming pit of idealistic love.
dabbled in vagrancy.
lost myself.
suffocated in guilt.
grew strong.
learned (ing) self sufficiency.
found/finding self-love.
journey, baby.

life is an experience.

experience it.
without judgement.
becoming confident and comfortable in my own skin.

i am living my own messy life.

bike commutes and sustainable food and wild kids wild neighborhood and even wilder love---

a permaculture rainbow road brimming from my heart,

working with plants as carriers of divine messages from mother earth--

teaching timeless things---

peace
love
serenity
understanding
compassion
patience

bringing balance.

watching a life documentary with teddy, resting from his bike ride.

i make him tea.

it's rainy outside and it feels cozy to geek out over nature

grateful i'm not ever going to be eaten by a snake, those legless dragons,
or at least i hope.

watched footage of the pebble toad in action, crawling though the desert.
and totally relating.

like the desert chameleon searching for a mate---

sometimes you feel alone--
and the universe tells you otherwise --
my snacks are never popular. i'm such an earthy peasant. off to a parent meeting.

noel reads from a beloved story book. seeds are handed out to honor the community's elder who just passed, all of us reminded to plant beauty.  so thankful.
and of course rides home from this dashing lad never hurt.
the girl was born from a mushroom,
whispering fairy tongues---

dreaming of drifting,
rooted with children and nourishing community

living a sweet and simple peasant existence, chopping vegetables and raising wild babies

infinite potential rising from the ashes

happy eclipse magic to all--
